[1st sept 2006] standard chartered marathon 2006

the map of the marathon route. i am training for it. it is really not easy. the mental and physical strain it has on the body... really hope i can finish it like a man!
the marathon is like the walk like God... this is a super over used cliche but yet... it is very true. in a race, we should never start fast... we should run slow and once we get the hang of it, we can increase the speed a little. but even so, we must keep checking our bodies. our feet, legs, heartbeat rate and etc.... if we felt that we had pushed too much, we got to slow down a little before the damage sets in. this may even force us out of the race..
in the run... in the marathon... the reason why we run is to complete the marathon... and if possible win the race. the reason SHOULD NOT be overtaking people. it MUST NOT be the reason. but while winning the race, we will of course overtake ppl. but we have to be careful and not keep pushing ourselves to overtake ppl and then in the end.. get burnt out... there are so so so many examples that we can see during races.
likewise, the walk with God is the same also. serving is important. but taking care of our spiritual health is just as important if not more important. let us not serve till the extent that the ministry becomes god and neglect our relationship with God. let us serve because of who God is...
i am going for my run le. bye
